I’ve come to the end of a long summer on the road. It gets me every year, the cold and sharp immediacy of Autumn, but I’m glad to slide into the season where the weather suits my clothes. Jackets and boots all the way!
I’m home now, gathering myself and practising songs old & new, looking forward to the upcoming tour of the UK & Ireland.
The London show on 19 October at Islington Assembly Hall is going to be a special one. Two of my closest musical friends are joining me to collaborate on a few tunes; Ben Ottewell (of Gomez) and Irish folk giant Cara Dillon. The show will be opened by Portland Brothers, the new project of Steven Adams (The Broken Family Band) and Timothy Victor (The Folk Orchestra). Get your tickets HERE!
As the tour rolls on, I'm thrilled to tell you about the artists who will feature across the October/November dates. There are some wildly gifted musicians stepping up to tell you their stories. Leading light of Welsh music Georgia Ruth, rising star on the new-folk scene Kitty McFarlane, acoustic torchbearer Ben Morgan-Brown and Celtic/Bluegrass firebrands The Magpies will be warming up these venues across the UK.
I count myself among the lucky ones who will get to hear them in person. If you haven’t bought tickets to these shows already, I know they’re going fast, but I’d love to see you there if you can make it.
There’s more exciting news coming in the next couple of weeks. For now, I hope you’re well wherever you are! See you down the road.
